orthodontic crowding is a real problem for humans anon. it's fascinating, for some reason, jaws shrunk as we evolved, maybe as a response to changing diets, but the "number of teeth" seems to be a set thing, leading to all of modern orthodontics. it's likely due to overall head size and ease of passage through the birth canal. count your blessings you had someone who cares about you enough to fix your teeth. it's hard to brush really crooked teeth. I'm not even into braces and shit, it's vain as fuck, but wisdom tooth removal is usually a good idea.

Having a smaller jaw is maladaptive and less healthy. Needing to have your wisdom teeth out is a sign that something went wrong in your jaw development.
