Just got laid off. Thinking about moving away and starting over fresh somewhere else.
Any tips on how to reinvent oneself at 33, or is it all over for me?
>>
It is only over if you gave up on yourself. My grandmother believed in me so much I don't feel like ever giving up on myself again before she died. You should remember how hard your elders believed in you too. Deep down they don't want to see you beating yourself up after all those rough times. Pick yourself up and keep trying.
>>
And fuck your reason. You want to know what you call someone who gave himself every reason possible? A guy who blew his brains out with his story on the news. STOP BEING SMART.
>>
Depends on what you want. Based on your vid, sounds like you're sick of the routine day to day and want to try something new.
That part is up to you to figure out, based on your interests.
Do you have a family to support? If so, you kinds have to work any job to make money. Otherwise, this is probably your wake moment to start fresh in something else, assuming you have enough money and resources to work towards it. You can also take things slow and settle for a part time or gig until you figure out what you really want to do. We can't really tell you what that is though, only you can figure it out

Sure. Do what you did, somewhere else.

The trouble with running away to start over is that when you get where you're going you're still you.

Look at his forearms and pencil neck. All that jobmaxxing but he couldn't spare three hours a week in the gym? Face it, in 2026 you HAVE to ACTIVELY work on your appearance as a man to stand a chance. It doesn't even need to be dramatic, a simple arm & shoulder focused routine can be done at home with just a few dumbells (shoulder width and arm size are repeatedly found to be the most widely attractive trainable qualities in legitimate psychological studies, not just by online gurus). Gyms or sport hobbies are also some of the free-est meeting places if you're not unsocial, from personal experience.

Here, have a sample 3X a week home workout:
Bicep curls, 5-8 reps
Hammer curls, 5-8 reps
Lateral raises, 5-8 reps
Dumbell floor press, 5-8 reps
Floor tricep extensions, 5-8 reps
Lateral raises, 5-8 reps
Standing dumbell overhead presses, 5-8 reps
40 minutes total time used.

You have to team up with other chuds who have the same problem, regrettably.

>It doesn't work
But who are "you"? Can you articulate without being a doomer?

>your past?
Abstract. Even with path dependency, it doesn't necessarily have to be extremely limiting
>your physical body
Can get healthy and fit, get body modifications, etc.
>your mind?
Your personality isn't static. You're not the same as you were as an infant, toddler, child, teenager. Your genes and experiences DO have a huge influence on mind and body, but things aren't immutable.

It's from Castle.
Nathan Fillion is in the DCU as Green Lantern, not Marvel.
Checkmate.

>Your personality isn't static
My entire point is only this. Moving won't do anything to change your personality. There is no "fresh start" just a new place you live. So many people fall into the trap of thinking that moving is going to make them feel different and when it doesn't they get sad.

>Checkmate
More like reverse checkmate.

Well not-moving certainly isn't going to help. Nothing changes if nothing changes.
An adjustment in physical environment empirically has an effect.

Unironically start a business.

Here’s something you haven’t done. Watch me:
>I fired myself
>I rehired myself at a higher wage
>I fire my clients if they act uppity
>I renegotiate all contracts to antagonize them, and magically get offered new work.

Incomprehensible to wagies, I know, but I got sick of working for psycho scheming bosses and with derelicts.

Instead, I just picked something I had skill in (writing) and looked at the top earners. I then reverse-engineered how they did it, and augmented it with my own interests and skill set.

Oddly enough, I love my job. By happenstance, I get work from the biggest companies in the world, and it beats having someone torpedo my job because of arbitrary reasons.

As for reinvention, there’s a good chapter in The 48 Laws of Power about reinventing yourself.
>no I’m not giving you the link, look it up
I mean, if you run your own business, you have to be a self-starter

>your video
cringe video. Broadcasting your failures is a narcissistic move, probably what everyone sniffed out about him (and why he lives in a shit apartment). I mean, all he had to do was figure out his earning metrics and stat finding ways to get out of the wage-slave trap.

Use the motivation of having your dick sucked versus sucking dick. Once I took my life’s direction into my own hands, I started earning six-figs and having multiple FFMs, gaining renown for my art and pissing off weaker people around me.
