cant bring myself to do basic stuff like eating, brushing teeth when i feel "depressed"

im usually optimistic through out the week but sometimes mood suddenly drops for days and i hate even existing to some extent
how can i stay consistent during those times when i have lots of commitments

i guess someone with bipolar or bpd can let me know how thy manage their daily stuff to let me have some perspective on how 2 deal w my own problems

I can't speak as a saint or anything like that since I also struggle to take care of myself daily, but I have found a few changes that have helped me in the past...

The biggest takeaway is that providing extra opportunities for yourself to do the thing you need to take care of will give you more chances to actually do it. For brushing my teeth, I carry an extra toothbrush in my purse, and I have an extra one in my car too. That way even if I don't brush my teeth at home, i can do it elsewhere.

Sometimes I'll gamify the whole thing. If I go to the bathroom, I'll make brushing my teeth a condition for me to leave the bathroom. I will stay in the bathroom until I brush my teeth.

Music helps also.

Won't this stress you more if you failed to do what you wanted? out of sight out of mind?
I understand it can be a good motivator but can be a negative thing too no?

well this is the one that i tried for some time and actually helped me a bit
i specifically force myself to study when i go to the bathroom cause its weirdly calming in there

>Music helps also.
Yeah lmao it takes my mind of the unimportant stuff and lets me focus on the activity on hand so less stress overall

Have you sought therapy and diagnosed with anything btw?

normally id vent to my partner but im single atm so I just get off or listen to music
>>
>>34369607
I tried doing that for a while but it felt wrong and made me feel like a "loser"
Don't you feel "pathetic" when you tell others about your problems especially if they are close to you?

>so I just get off or listen to music
do it make you feel better?or help you realistically
>>
I just willed wanting to brush my teeth into existence and now I can't sleep unless I do it. It really is that simple, but not easy.

I do when its randoms. If its a partner, hell no. Thats what theyre for, theyre supposed to give you affection. Its been really annoying to vent beg randos for crumbs of validation since im single.
>do it make you feel better?or help you realistically
Kinda. Its not perfect but the best thing I have to distract me.

It let's me relax actually. If I forget to do something, there are more chances to do it later. If I didn't brush my teeth, and I didn't have any extra brushes in my purse or car, then the only time I could brush again is whenever I got back home.

I got that dawg in me (auDHD)

>brushing teeth
I know this is probably bad, but I have not brushed my teeth in years. Instead what I do is I will just chew gum right after a meal, mainly because I cannot stand the feeling in my mouth. Been to a dentist a few times and it seems to be fine. So maybe that is it - find ways to do things easier.

The plaque that you don't remove will harden and get beneath your gumline,. It will cause periodontists and if you don't get your teeth cleaned, before long the only way they'll be able to clean your teeth is by doing surgery on your gums. Your jaw bone will recede as the plaque advances further and further beneath your gumline. Be careful.

Do you mean with toothpaste or just generally? I’ve come across stuff saying fluoride affects the mind so has there been any change or this was schizo posting

>So maybe that is it - find ways to do things easier.
I’ve read that this approach destroys your willpower. Always taking the easy way out and avoiding challenges is bad for you; I try to push myself instead.

bumping cause ilove my pic

Look into magic/magick. It's about will and willpower at the core.

didnt understand it much desu how old are you?
>>
you just need to make them as easy as possible. Cook one big slop pot for the week. even brushing your teeth, listen to your favorite song as you do it or whatever
