How do I quit doomscrolling? I know it’s lowest common denominator normie engagement slop but it’s like I find myself back to scrolling constantly. I like sending memes to my brother and friends but should I just delete the apps or mentally catch myself?
>>34367273Delete all your apps and force yourself to be bored, eventually it becomes like when you were a kid and didn't have access to a screen. Online people don't care about you anyway.
>>34367273This >>34367792 but also, deleting an app is not a replacement for mentally catching yourself, I have a bad habit of deleting and downloading instagram several times a daySomeone who quit doomscrolling once told me, if deleting the app is not a solution for you, there is no solution for youI think there's a sort of hierarchy where you need to get off the hard stuff and go down to less brain rotting activities like1. instagram/4chan2. youtube/reddit3. vidya4. anime/netflix5. movies/books
>>34367273It's too late. It's an addictive drug. Even if you stop, you'll remember how good and stimulating it was and come back to it. Same with food, once you've tasted pizza you'll always have a desire to come back to it despite trying to "eat clean".
>>34368167Never too late to overcome addiction. But cold turkey is the only way. The more you get sucked into this stuff, the more fucked up your dopamine levels are. If you can avoid it, eventually over time they will start to stabilize and you can enjoy life how it was meant to be experienced.
