>manager basically wants me to tell him all the issues with a couple of retards in our team>they are incompetent and make my job worse>don't like or care about them either>still feel conflicted about being a tattletaleWhat should I do?
>>34375885Talk about their problems in a way that is not throwing them under the bus, but is trying to help themAs in "They frequently make this mistake when dealing with this work order. They always seem to make this 1 mistake" and then talk about how they could learn from it. Basically make a top 3 that is so simple even those retards could figure out what they need to do better, and hope they do better.
>>34375895The thing is they're kind of old and I really doubt they have the ability to learn the basic shit they need to actually be good enough at their jobs, so they just pester me to help them all the time. It's like asking a dog to play piano and the manager is already aware of this
>>34375885See: those lazy morons are basically letting you do THEIR work. They don't give a shit about you. They are not your friends. You are inexperienced, when you'll find real work bros, you will know. Those are not.Act consequently.
>>34375930I know that, I just still feel weird about being a tattletale
>>34375963Go watch the movie On the Waterfront starring Marlon Brando. It’s not okay to keep your mouth shut when other people are taking advantage of you.Your manager probably has a hard time because of the incompetence. Which would you rather help, those two guys or your manager? Do you think those two guys will help you out when you are in trouble? If it were me, I would gladly give my manager the evidence needed to have those guys fired. I’ve been through that and it sucks to do more work because other people can’t handle their responsibilities. I get along great with management, though.
>>34375885Present it as systematic rather than personal. "Everything has to go through John before I can do my job, and if he is slow the whole process shuts down."
>>34376632Boy, do you not understand that movie!
>>34375885Don't give a fuck it's always the best way to deal with things. And if your coworker don't give a fuck about you to the point to make our job worst you should do the same, has Jesus say don't do to other what you don't what to be done to yourself.
Dude your manager is asking for your help, if you care, you should help him out. You're not a tattletale, your an adult having to pick up the slack for other adults. No one is entitled to a job. I'm in a similar boat, I see that one guy is a burden to the whole department, not my department, but it seems that no one over there cares or maybe they're just trying to not rock the boat, fuck that. I can see it's a legit detriment to everyone, but the manager and his manager seem to be on extra friendly terms with this shit, so I had a discussion with the boss, because I want that lazy shit fired. Or at least to be forced to do his fucking job and start producing. If I was still in that department I'd be pissed that I have to work hard while moron just hangs out. My role is about efficiency, but no amount of lean can fix a bad work ethic. Heck dude maybe I'm the dude who asked you for help, if that's the case I'm doing my bit already, I'm just asking for more ammunition.
>>34379917Funny story the manager is picking up the slack for the burden, because everyone is busy. That manager needs to get his own shit together and he's doing his subordinates job.
