Should I move out of the Midwest, a place I generally hate, but leave my parents behind? Or should I move back to a coastal city where I grew up and find a lot more tolerable. I don't wanna leave my mom and my sister who lives near me is about to have twins but I haven't enjoyed a single day in this shithole region.

It depends on if your parents are super old.

you might want to try living away from your family & hometown, you can always come back and/or visit
are there particular reasons you don't want to leave? like, what's most strongly making you want to be with your family?

Personally I think the midwest is a shithole save for a few states, westcoast is nice and has stuff to do but everything is expensive, i grew up here and it has changed a lot over the years but still great overall. never been to the eastcoast so no perspective besides stereotypes

My Mom is in chronic pain and my dad doesn't help her, and my older brother is just a whiny asshole. My mom babysits my niece when my sister is working and I help with that too. I just don't wanna leave my mom with people who font help her.

ah :/
do you think you should talk to your mom about it? maybe you're worrying too much
that does sound rough though

ideally you can work out some way to get her support, and still be able to move

you could also consider moving somewhere within an hours drive (or whatever) of your mom, if there's a nice place nearby, but idk if that's a good/bad idea

She said I should go but she also doesn't think about herself when she talks.

Do they have telephones where you are? Is there an airport? Then you're not really leaving.

I can't fly up every time my parents need help

Stay, build community, embrace spirituality. The US is shifting polarity. In 5 years it won’t matter if you’re surrounded by libtards or conservatards since you’ll all be fighting for each others survival.

You may discover that when you're not next door they don't actually need you all that often

I asked my mom again about it and she said to think on it, she won't be sad or mad about it but she's prefer if I stayed cause my brother doesn't help around the house
