Bear with me. You know when someone is too naive and gets taken advantage of by the world? What advice would you give to someone taking the exact opposite route, as in just another soulless cynic in the making? How do you console or advise this person to temper their harsh views of the world with reality, while simultaneously not lying to them? What advice would you give an almost cynic to save him? Pic unrelated. I am a lost zoomer if that matters.

Cynicism is what happens when you can't forgive yourself for having shit boundaries. You don't need cynicism if you know you have the spine to say "No" and "Fuck off" to people crossing your boundaries.
