I live in a ground-floor apartment. For the last month, the people above me have been tapping on their floor in a very specific rhythm. It sounds like Morse code. I looked up Morse code patterns and started writing down the sequences. They aren't random. Yesterday the pattern translated to "he is eating toast," which is exactly what I was doing at the time. They are narrating my life. I have tried to record it, but the tapping is too faint for my phone mic to pick up clearly over the ambient noise. I can't afford professional bugs or listening gear. I feel like I'm living in a fishbowl. I can't sleep because I'm waiting for the next tap. My therapist says this is just a breakthrough delusion, but I know what I heard. They know I'm onto them too because the tapping got faster when I started writing it down. Has anyone else dealt with surveillance like this? How can I gather concrete evidence to show the police without them thinking I'm just a crazy person? If I go up there and confront them and they are just regular people, I'll look insane and probably get evicted. But I can't keep living like this
>>34387599troll post or schizophrenia symptom, anoni don't know what it's like to be told this, but i'm telling you, it's not realthere are plenty of examples of schizophrenics i bet you're aware of some, thinking the radios/movies are talking to them & similar shitif your neighbors were surveilling you, they'd still have no reason to narrate their own thoughts to you in morse code through the floor, that's retardedbut my suggestion would be to spend more time outside of the apartment, and/or maybe try talking to the neighbors & being friends
>my brain is a liar who says everyone hates mehate when that happensget well soon
>>34387616I am on medication THOUGH. I take 4mg of Risperidone every single night. If this was just a symptom of my illness, the medication would have suppressed it by now. I know what hallucinations feel like. This is different. The tapping is mechanical. It’s rhythmic. You don't get it. You're thinking like a normal person. These people aren't normal. They do it because they know i'm schizo and they know nobody will believe me. It's the perfect crime. They can tap and tap and if i call the cops it's just "noisy pipes" to them. It's about power. They get off on letting me know they are watching my every move. Why don't you give me actual advice on how to deal with these people
>>34387637just call your doctor and tell them this is happening. clearly your medication needs an adjustment
>>34387599Maybe they're tapdancing. That would involve rhythmic patterns of taps.EVEN IF they were spying on you, why would they be tapping messages in Morse? Wouldn't they just talk to each other? And how do you imagine they're spying if they're using all their time writing reports? This is a case in which the explanation "You're imagining it" is actually more logical than yours.
>>34387599Do they tap in Morse code when you are jerking off? How can they even see what you’re doing? You should do something really outrageous to test them, like eat your own poop or something.
>>34387599How would tapping be a way of spying on you? If they were spying on you, they wouldn't let you know it. If they're tapping messages to each other they can't be spying on you.
>>34387637you should pray anon
lol thanks for the laugh op
>>34387599just get a contact mic, then you can tape it to the ceiling and get hard evidence while you record yourself with a timestamp to link the audio and video.Contact mics are made to record vibrations at the source, they will pick up the taps no matter how soft.
Hallucinations sometimes have their own structure to them. The taps spelling words is not proof that your neighbors are actually doing it.I would ignore the taps (if it really were your neighbors, I would ignore them until they do something real like confront you - and they won't) and maybe change your meds, they might not be working well enough (with doctor approval)Anyway, don't involve the police. It's not a crime and it sounds too crazy. They'll force you into the hospital for sure.
