Hello my dog died and I am sad. He threw up lots of blood and then died fast. I have another one and I feel bad she lost her friend. he was 13 i think. How can I make the other one and me feel better :(
>>
That sucks. Sorry. If you don’t mistreat your animals just get another dog?

Would that help the other one feel better? Sometimes I feel like she's looking for him.

I hope your other dog got to see the one who passed. They need to be about to understand the other has died to move on, just like humans do. Other than that just be there for each other as best you can and keep up with your usual routines for your still living dog. Routine can be very stabilizing and helpful. For yourself, spend time around others who get it, spend time with your living dog, and keep up your usual routine too. Death is hard and there's no easy shortcuts to move through the emotions that come with it.

It likely wouldn't help actually, not during the mourning stage. Maybe after in the long term if your dog is lonely. But in the short term, yes she's probably looking for him especially if she didn't get to see that he died. That can be a confusing time and experience for pets to go through. I would suggest >>>/an/ for more detailed help.

Yeah I put him in a box with a blanket and patted him lots. It was weird because just before he died she came over to him. I wonder if she knew?
