being a pessimist is not all doom-and-gloom, it puts you in a resilient position, as if bad things happen, it's okay, this was expected.
And if good things happen, it feels much more satisfying.

that said, the usual advice of bombarding yourself with positive affirmations will just lead to disappointment and false hope. It's very bad to live like this.
Best to just stick with the things you like/should do and build from there.

Don't look down or too far ahead, try your best for today. And if you can't - that's fine too. We all have bad days/weeks.
However, if you feel as if this is impeding your daily functioning and is pervasive (>3mo), you should see a licensed psychologist.

there's no one-size-fits-all answer anon
there's probably some specific reason(s) from your life why you're pessimistic, best thing is to figure out what those are

You should be realistic. And every restriction opens doors.
Every bad thing has some advantage.
