What is something I can take to make my back muscles not so tight? Pressure or rubbing on them only kinda works. It feels like a really tight rope that I need to cut to relieve the tension
Not OTC: but start doing stretches, and get yourself a massage or a massage gun. Stretches will help prevent it coming back, and massaging the area will help relieve it.
>>34395430Magnesium and don't overwork the muscles. Have potassium. Have rest.
take some ibeaprofin to reduce the inflammation and a weed gummy with some delta 9 and CBD, then take a hot bath to relax, snack on some gummy bears (collagen), and then go to bed and sleep as much as possible. Take any other sleep supplements you have. Sleep is your friend here
>>34395430anon if your back is tight/stiff all the time, there's probably something wrongu should figure out what the actual problem is and try to resolve it
You need to stretch and exercise your back more. If you are always hunched on the computer or on your phone your upper traps and your neck will be fucked up. Listen to >>34395440>>34395567>>34395584If your back pain is severe I recommend seeing a good PT. They are expesnive but a good one will fix your shit in only two sessions and you will never have to go back as long as you take care of yourself.
>>34395430Try fixing your posture. It may be that you are so focused on other stuff that you completely forget about your posture. If you have a smart watch or some shit, try putting a alarm like every hour or two hours that reminds you of your posture. And try dead hangs. Just hanging from a pull up bar or something similar. Every time I have pain in my shoulders or somewhere in my back, I do these every evening. After a few days it gets better significantly. Randomly fixed the pain in my shoulder I had for a few months.
>>34395684>PTThis is especially true if you follow the regimen they give you at home. PT makes a world of difference. I won't promise two sessions though, it'll depend on just how bad things are.
>>34395759Dumbest fucking advice ever. >just fix your posture bro
>>34395684What would a PT do exactly?
>>34395944A physical therapist does a combination of things: pain management/relief before and after a session (this might look like massage, assisted stretching, or using various tools), identifying the exact muscles that are the problem area, create an exercise routine that's targeted to strengthen/ improve flexibility/ or otherwise address your issue, assist you in performing those exercises safely and correctly, provide 'homework' exercises for you to do to continue your progress, and modify this routine regularly at each visit based on your injury, pain, and progress. This is the exact job physical therapists exist for: helping the body recover. Admittedly most people won't attend one if it doesn't rise to the level of requiring medical intervention, but it's absolutely worth it.
>>34395967What about like a massage parlor? Not like a tugee place but somewhere where an asian lady can fit her tiny hands into the grooves.
>>34395974A massage parlor will offer a massage and if they're properly trained, yeah, it'll be just as effective at loosening tight muscles as the massage a physical therapist might offer, assuming you get the right kind. But it isn't going to offer any of the added benefits a physical therapist does and sometimes tightness isn't the underlying issue and it'll come back. For example, if you have a sedentary life style you need to add in stretching to improve flexibility and range of motion, which is lost over time. If you're deficient in magnesium you'll want to take that. Or, if you have an underlying injury/weakness causing you to favor a certain side in a way that makes another part of your body tight, you're going to want more experienced care.I did actually suggest a massage to OP along with stretching earlier in the thread, it's a good idea and will help significantly. But if he has the money, PT is even better.

>>34395430>What is something I can take to make my back muscles not so tight?Lidocaine patches, emu oil (BlueStop or similar), bengay, or NSAIDS.If you are having lower back tension you need to do regular stretches, and consider a different style of chair. I had chronic lower back tension and improved my symptoms by using a knee chair. That was a decade ago. Now I'm on a prescription for cyclobenzaprine.
