>sleep 5 hours a night for 5 years while wagecucking in a factory>imagination completely goes to shit>get laid off at age of 32>been unemployed 6 months now, going back to college>creative projects are a struggle>used to have such an insane amount of creative energy pouring out of me>most of it was garbage but a lot of good projects came out of it>now it feels like I never have any good ideas anymore. I feel no drive to create anything that isn't a marketable idea, and even then on the low end of money that most creative projects make (I've earned ~300 dollars from my creative ventures so far and most of that is from YouTube). Is it over for me? Is there a way I can heal my brain? It's hard for me to learn maths now too, and more difficult to do mental math. I research brain damage from long-term sleep deprivation but there isn't much out there.
I used lay down in bed at night and my brain would start generating fan fiction stories with me as the hero. It would typically be like “crossovers”. For example one of them was full metal alchemist and Harry Potter universes hybridized. It was so cool and now my brain doesn’t do that anymore. The most it can be bothered to do is come up with some interesting sexual fantasies and even that is spotty. Sad
>>34396202Same. I would have many stories playing in my head constantly. I could get so lost in my imagination daydreaming, even as an adult. By age 25 I had lost some of it but wagecucking for 5 years destroyed most of the rest of it. Part-time wagecucking never did, but fulltime wagecucking plus sleep deprivation put the final nails in the coffin. It sucks because I always heard that you needed to be in your 30s to hit peak writing ability, and now I am there and I have lost it entirely. I wrote a 600 page novel of autistic headcanon garbage no one will ever read just for fun. Now I am old and I can't even imagine doing that.
>>34396189you could try psychedelics if you're in a decent place right now
>>34396325how do I get them? I see studies for trying them if you are depressed advertised to me. I don't know if they require you to be diagnosed depressed though. I am but not suicidal.
>>34396189Weed.
>>34396369>how do I get them? I see studies for trying them if you are depressed advertised to me. I don't know if they require you to be diagnosed depressed though. I am but not suicidal.this stuff is illegal and bad and i don't condone itthere's no reason one couldn't grow their own though, that would be less risky than other options & not that hardthere would be no reason to take anything besides psilocybin, reallypsychedelics seem to improve neuroplasticitythis can be a double-edged sword, it can make you much more sensitive to stresslike i said, make sure you're in a good place if you try them, and definitely shouldn't fuck around with anything besides psilocybin or LSD, there's no point
>>34396477noweed makes people retardedit's a good recreational drugpsychedelics WILL make you smarter, as well as more creativethey just have a bunch of side effects hwich can be hard to managedon't fuck around mixing them with other drugs, use good judgment in generalyou can end up with HPPD (thin layer of TV static on evreything) if you're not careful
>>34396189Yeah, you can heal your brain.1. Sleep 7-9 hours per night - bedtime / wake-up time consistency matters most2. Aim for 200 minutes of Zone II cardio per week (heart rate range varies per individual, so look into it)3. Address nutritional deficiencies (healthy fats, vitamins, trace minerals)4. Reduce super-normal stimuli to a MINIMUM5. Creatine + Omega-3 supplementationPoints #1-3 are basic things we tend to neglect - if you're getting poor sleep, eating like shit, and living a sedentary lifestyle, your brain is going to be functioning around 20-30% potential indefinitely. As for point #4, 'super-normal stimuli' means: doomscrolling / frivolous internet usage, porn, drugs, pretty much anything on the hedonistic side. Do your best to create an environment where the option to fuck your time away isn't immediately available (ex. if you have a phone problem, put your phone in another room while you're trying to come up with creative ideas). Point #5 is optional, but you might be interested in it. Creatine is one of the most studied supplements on the market, and there's promising evidence that I can help offset mental fatigue caused by stress and sleep deprivation. The hardest part (obviously) is making these changes. Keep your head up man, things will get better.
>>34396584all good ideasI'm trying to get more exercise.I do work out but not as much cardio as I should (hiking and biking dn't really count)I'll look at Creatine and Omega 3s
>>34396584>>34396801it's good advicecreatine should definitely help with depression, at leastit seems to have a stronger effect as people get older
>>34396864Is there any specific supplement or brand you'd recommend for it?I would love to find a multi-vitamin type of thing like that that would just give me excess of everything, not enough to fuck with my kidneys (I know too much creatine can fuck you up) but just enough that it would make up for any major deficits I have.
>>34396497>how do I get some>grow itgrowing it still requires you get some, does it not?
>>34396274sorry anon, growing up is permanent
>>34399402Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of.Sucks too because I thought I had more time for creative accomplishments. There just genuinely isn't an enjoyment that replaces it.Even RPGs are less fun.
>>34399338the spores are legal to buy and sell actually. Anyone can have magic mushrooms if they want them bad enough. Sadly I fall into the category of wanting them but not bad enough to get into mushroom farming.
>>34399315>any specific supplement or brand?Nutricost, Optimum Nutrition (ON), and GNC-brand creatine monohydrate are all solid options. It's available in powder or pill form. You can get north of 2.5lbs of creatine for $50 if you prefer buying in bulk - that'll last you a while. Otherwise, they sell smaller amounts (2-3 months supply) for $15-20. As for Omega-3s, that's trickier. High quality fish oil must be purified and stabilized for it to do any good - otherwise you're just downing rancid, possibly heavy-metal-contaminated fish grease. I got mine online from 'Micro Ingredients' after looking at a bunch - it's good stuff.>I would love to find a multivitamin that would give me an excess of everythingAddress your nutrition first - vitamins, antioxidants, trace minerals, etc. are best absorbed through quality food. Otherwise, take a multivitamin with food, at most, every *OTHER* day. The multivitamin's greatest strength is also its greatest weakness. Fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K) and minerals can build up quickly depending on your BMI, activity level, etc. They aren't pissed out like the rest. The effects of having an excess of vitamins can be quite unpleasant. Err on the side of caution.>I know too much creatine can fuck you upUnless you have a preexisting kidney condition, creatine cannot seriously harm you. The standard dose is 3-5g/day. People will dose 20-30g/day for one week to saturate their muscles faster for the sake of bodybuilding, but you won't need to do that. I think people associate creatine with danger because its popularity exploded in bodybuilding - and bodybuilding means tren, BGH, anavar... Anyways, it's safe to take.
>>34399706alright thanks. yeah I am focusing on having enough green vegetables and the like. Instead of rice as a staple food.
>>34396189Go to bed, anon.
>>34400612I do. I've been going to bed earlier and I get enough sleep pretty much no matter what.
