I'm not asking for advice, I'm giving it to you. I'll be 40 at the end of this year. I've been coming to 4chan for nearly twenty years now, and it's fucking tragic seeing some of the attitudes you young guys have towards yourselves.
Most of you are better than you think, you just don't currently realise it. Or, when you try to, you do it in unhealthy ways. Years from now, most of you are going to realise that you actually had quite a lot more potential than you gave yourselves credit for at the time.
But the answers for most of the things you guys post about aren't on here. They're out there in the world. Despite some of the destructive ways you guys use your brains, most of you are pretty fucking intelligent. You're perfectly capable of making astute observations, recognising patterns, and generating worthwhile abstractions from them. Many of you need to learn how to get out of your own way when you make them, but I'd say that at least 75-90% of you are far more capable at life than you realise. Some of you have genuine problems of a medical nature, and that's one thing. But a lot of you are just not giving yourselves permission to become the person you want to, or know you should be for various reasons. But you might as well try, anyway. Going into life and failing at it has a quiet dignity and honour to it that being a bitch on here can't even hope to compete with. I feel silly even saying that, because I'm confident that deep down most of you are already well aware.
I don't really have plans for Q&A, I just wanted to tell you that you guys are too harsh on yourselves. But you've got skills, champ. I have faith in you. Don't let this be the end for you.

Based hope poster. Thank you. I'm 29 turning 30 in just a few weeks. I've also been coming here since my early teens, and sometimes I feel like I'm your position - on the "other side", I AM the old fuck I was hearing stories about and being afraid I'll become, so some of the advice I give nowadays is coming from a place of "it's done for me, you might be done for too, but maybe you still have a chance, so here's my advice"
Idk where I was going with this post.
Just, I feel like it's done for me but I know I still have my hair, and I can still go to the gym and continue to eat healthy and eat even healthier. It's just that all of the excitement for life and motivation has been slapped out of me. I hope to be better. Otherwise it's killing myself for me.

OP here. I'm surprised this is still up.
>>34401427
I believe it's completely possible for you.
>>34401433
Well nobody on here can tell you, either. The discovery is up to you.

>"it's done for me, you might be done for too, but maybe you still have a chance, so here's my advice"
Not even. It ain't over 'til it's over. I've seen people twice my age continue to reinvent themselves. When you're dead and buried, or at least incapacitated, sure, then you can say it. But until then, there's always possibility for something new.
