How do you convince a schizophrenic that the delusions that go on inside their head are not real? I have this delusion that everyone is out to get me or that people can read my mind. For over a decade of therapy and support no matter what someone says I will not believe in the truth.
>>34401145If you know it's a delusion, then presumably you don't think it's true?
>>34401145In my experience, I tried acting out the delusions I had in my mind, and it turned out so poorly that I realized I am retarded.
i also have inverse telepathy and can't be convinced it's not real
>>34401145Go with the flow. Never doubt them.
>>34401145If you know it's a delusion then you don't think it's actually true, meaning you aren't as deluded as you claim to be. In actuality what's taking place, is that you're using a lie as an excuse to avoid taking accountability for yourself and your behavior. Thinking that everyone is out to get you, for example, is just a way of blaming others for your failures. So what you ought to be doing is meditating on your failures, accepting them, and vowing to grow from them rather than try to escape blame.
dont even worry about them reading your mind, they literally got tools to beam thoughts into your brain so its not like if they had to study you or give you attention beyond just beaming your mind with nonsense to keep you under control
>>34401145Have you considered that you're right?
>>34401313If I was the only one who would say it would be true but everyone else I meet says it's a delusion then wouldn't I be wrong?
>>34401314Wouldn't that just prove you correct?
>>34401318>says no>makes them true>says delusion>everybody says it's no except me
>>34401145I think the best possible approach is to work on your mental health; self acceptance and self love, healthy self awareness, empathy, improving your living conditions, learning meditation to quiet your mind, avoiding things that can lead to paranoid and negative thoughts, etc. There's basically two possibilities: these thoughts are coming from within you, or from outside of yourself. Either way, improving your inner world will improve your life, either through your ability to deal with them or the thoughts themselves.I believe that simply having good mental health is far more important than what you "believe" about these thoughts. If you improve your mental health and life and the thoughts have become better as a result, that would just have the added bonus of proving that your actions change these thoughts.
>>34401145Well there clearly seems to be some understanding that they're abnormal. If there is any way you can in the moment emphasize the rational possibility of it being a delusion, and always behaving with the assumption that it is, and simply accepting the narratives your brain is making as possibilities but not absolute conclusions of the situation, then the narratives should hold less value in your immediate behavior. I have experienced stuff that was hard to ignore, but I was still able to act along the conclusion that it possibly could not have been true, and did some reality checking to confirm. May be something you cannot do, I am not diagnosed with anything and I know the brain can go much further in overtaking your present interpretation of a situation and flipping it in a way where it encodes a threat assumption to events.
>>34401145Just accept the fact that people can read your mind.
>>34401154you can believe its a delusion but your brain still hangs onto it constantly, with you having to deny the delusion constantly every time it comes up.
>>34401372That is exactly what that is. No matter what way you say it or describe it the thoughts never go away. Accepting it will only be worse because you get to many thoughts going into the delusioin and it's the only thing you think about. I don't see a way out of my mind.
>>34401145>everyone is out to get meWhat makes you think it's a delusion?
>>34401145You have to use their frame of reference to bring them information they haven't considered and let them do the reasoning.E.g. you say the delusion is yours. What would anyone want out of you, and how would that benefit them? If you have something other people would want, how could you use it instead? If you can't use it, why would they be able to use it, and if there's no real reason, maybe they're not out to get you and you could test it to confirm it.
>>34401322it's not impossible, everybody has been against me since the day I was born. they don't want us to win
>>34401145Have you actually tried medication?
>>34401145You'll get a Nobel prize in medical science if you figure out the answer. Good luck, OP.
>>34401154This is the amount of effort LARPers are putting in these days
