Is it worth working with video editing now and in the future?I have a chronic bowel problem, so it's very difficult to work outside my home. I'm trying to find something I can do from home, and editing seems like a good option.
>>34414062How about programming? Depending on how much you want to get involved in your production process, you could want to be on set for QC. Sorry about your condition, though. Diapers?
>>34414295I'm studying programming and honestly, I hate it. I thought about editing because I like being creative and it's simpler, I think.Regarding my intestines, that's not the issue; it's the unbearable pain and discomfort I feel. It feels like someone is tearing my intestines open with a knife.
>>34414295>How about programming?Shut up.>>34414062>Is it worth working with video editing now and in the future?Better than programming, that's for sure.
>>34414400can u teel me more about it? if you can
>>34414617>can u teel me more about it? if you canI've seen people making 100k USD yearly with video editing. But you have to do it for Youtube channels and you will probably have to work once or twice for free so you can build your portfolio. Nowadays Ai does all the heavy lifting, but you still need to know the core concepts and have a feeling of what is funny or kino. I would say it's easier than SWE because there's less competition, I am in the software industry and there's not a single day I pass without wanting to quit it. If you think that coding is the hardest part of SWE you're very wrong. That's the easiest part, the hardest part is: people, massive layoffs, huge interviewing process with thousands of competitors willing to work for scraps. That's what sucks about this job, but I guess it's not exclusive to SWE.
>>34414643>I am in the software industry and there's not a single day I pass without wanting to quit it.I'm sorry for youMy biggest fear in editing is the advancement of AI; I don't know what they'll be capable of doing in the future, and I don't know what jobs they'll take over. And I think I have a good sense of what's funny and what's not, but I don't know, are there other areas besides editing and programming?
>>34414695>My biggest fear in editing is the advancement of AIAs I said, AI does the heavy lifting, just like in programming, yeah, there will be job scarcity like any other "intellectual" field. But programming is already saturated, video editing isn't. If you get there first, you won't be jobless, no matter what, AI can't replace jobs entirely, but it will surely make them scarce.
>>34414062why does editing seem like a good option? as opposed to like, any non-freelance wfh job
>>34414730like what? i am realy lost here man, i tought about editiding because my friend is an editor
>>34414062editing might be goodu should probably try to treat the bowel problem, if possible, thoughthere might be a dietary fix of some kind
>>34414784I went to many doctors in recent years.Basically, my bowel problem is very strange, sometimes some medication relieves it, but after a few weeks it comes back, it's unbearable but unfortunately I'll have to learn to live with it.Almost all the doctors said it's a problem I'll probably have to learn to deal with, because no treatment works properly.
>>34414852Inbred?
>>34414911If that were the case, at least I would know why I have these problems. But no, it probably has to do with a bacterial infection and some depression maybe
>>34414852IBS? Medications can work but certain foods can set it off, you just have to figure out which ones do it. Anyway, editing can be a good choice, Your best bet would be learning to edit YouTube videos since moderate size YouTubers don't actually do the editing themselves and hire editors once they're big enough and need to put out daily/weekly videos. A few different YouTubers that just run two channels and put out gaming videos can sometimes have a team of 3 or more editors at one time just to keep the output schedule going.
>>34414062depends on your connections and what specific field you want into really
there isn't much to learn thoughit is mostly just cut footage, put them togethersome built-in vfx and transitions between clipsadd voiceover if need beyou learn the more complicated stuff as you gostuff like video editing, photoshop etc is pretty simple and honestly there isn't that much to learn
>>34415385>IBS? Medications can work but certain foods can set it off, you just have to figure out which ones do it. I was diagnosed with IBS by a doctor, but he also said that it doesn't make sense for it to be just that, because even when I'm very happy or very sad I still have problems. And my diet is very strict, I haven't eaten anything very different for quite some time, all to control it a little.i'm trying to learn more about editing, i think it is the best choice for me
>>34414343have you been tested for helicobacter pylori? that shit was painful and i felt like death
