How do I make sure I'm not learning nothing on my Computer Science course? I get 10s on everything except programming, and all my group projects I did basically nothing.

I get 10s on everything except programming, and all my group projects I did basically nothing.work on solo projectsthey can be small, just get comfortable with programming and figuring shit out on your ownyou could also go back through the projects you did "basically nothing" on and try to understand/re-create them yourself
>>34417079Last time I chose to do a solo project because autism allows me to get a simplified solo one in my uni.It was some mobile app language I'm pretty sure we never even saw in class, and I was given a month to do it. I ended up just using AI for it since my friend didn't want and couldn't either.
In this field, at least in my experience, college education does very little for your actual knowledge. College is to give you the degree so you can pass the HR filter. You need to be understanding and practicing things on your own outside of school. And largely what you learn in school won't be applicable to an actual job; the general concepts, maybe, but specific technologies? Doubtful.

>>34417074make shit, go through the major textbooks, engage with research.unless you're a mass-prod bay area webdev boba chang you should be able to find a few interesting challenges for yourself.same as any other stem degree.
>>34417074computer science is a broad field. some places treat it like a glorified coding bootcamp while others are more focused on theory. if you suck at programming then you better at least excel in that theoretical side. do you know about the class of primitive recursive functions, can you explain or summarize the main gist of computation theory? what kinds of computation are there? how can you formally prove that a function or process is in fact computable? and what does it mean for them to be computable?
>>34417074Just make sure you do every assignment during your algorithms class, the final year units are what really matters though and getting an internship if you can. CS degrees suck, over the summer read every course textbook and do every exercise and you will learn 300% more compared to just learning what is taught
just make sure you apply for every internship opportunity available starting now. the only reason I was able to get a job with this useless degree was cause of an internship. I don’t even really code now either. But least it’s something. If you have connections then it’s even easier
