I filed Chapter 7 years ago, your credit is fucked for like a year and then after that, you're able to get some credit cards with shitty rates to rebuild your credit. After a couple years you can have good credit. Just be smart and dont build up a balance on the credit cards.

>>34417513sorry bro, you got a shit hand : (When my grandma passed, she took her debts with her. the hospital claimed we owed $270K, but we showed them the death certificate and they fucked off. Debt dies with the debtor in the USA. Putting their debts in your name wasn't very smart. sorry anon. when you file bankruptcy it follows you for 7-10 years, i forget the specifics, but credit cards, mortgages, car loans are gonna be difficult. Otherwise, it's just smoke, the randomest people declare bankruptcy because it's a great way to get out of debt, assuming creditors aren't garnishing your wages. You'll make all the money back eventually, but you'll never forget how you helped family in their time of need. I don't know if that helps you.
