Or whatever younger gens call it these days.
>>34420566How old are you?
>>34420618Early 30s
>>34420640Yeah, this is the age where it's over to be a Rockstar.Early 30s yep. If you said late 20s it would be a complete different story but late 30s it's over. Unlucky being you I guess.
>>34420650Damn. I have so much to sing about though. Maybe next lifetime.
>>34420650Fuck this guy.>>34420704Follow your dreams, and don't let bullshit society let you down.
>>34420566u can become a rockstar at any ageunless you mean specifically music & a specific genre, but even then there's nothing stopping you, unless you listen to retards here
>>34420733I meant like music.>>34420728I'll probably try anyway.
>>34420640Lol it’s over for u unc
>>34420942
>>34420566A few musicians have made it pretty late in life. It's a weird example but Scatman John is one, he got really big in his 60s and then tragically died of cancer 2 years later. Miles Davis also didn't really make it big until he was in his 30s.You can certainly make it, but you've had to have been a musician prior and not just decided you want to be a musician when you hit 30.
>>34420566Making it as a rockstar is so incredibly unlikely, it would be irrational for ANYONE to do it. Like 0.001% chance. Whether you're in your 20's or 30's, your chances of making it are so about the same.If you look at the biographies of famous rockstars, it wasn't a rational decision for them. They literally just played and played and played. Their whole lives revolved around music, and they didn't see themselves as doing anything else.So if you want to do it, you have to decide that you want that to be your life. Get good, like REALLY good. Grind hard to make yourself seen, which is easier than ever before with the internet. And have no backup plan. And you MIGHT make it. Your mindset should be, "I might end up being 80 years old, living off meagre retirement funds because I've never had a career and dedicated my whole life to music. But I'd never have it any other way."Either make that commitment, or just give up on it, and choose another path in life. If you half-ass this, it's just a fantasy.
>>34421272Another thing, to be a rockstar means you're a musician, AND you're rich and famous. The former means you just have to make music. Anyone can do that. The latter means your music is known worldwide, AND ppl pay you big money for it. That means you have to make music that's popular, not just music you like for artistic value. You might not like it, some ppl consider it selling out, but if you want to be a star, you have to be what the ppl with money (record labels) want you to be. You may only be hot for the span of a few years. You might get everything you've ever wanted and still not be happy. In fact that's more than not the case. That's what happened to Kurt Cobain. Or you might be totally satisfied. Either way, be prepared, it's the price you pay.Oh, and there will be plenty of distractions. Social media, other possible career paths, girlfriends etc. etc. All that has to come second. So make up your mind now, how bad you want it.
>>34420640It depends. Are you actually knowledgeable and really fucking good, or are you just trying to do mainstream bullshit and drugsex it up? Because if the latter, not only are you too old, you're too late. Everyone likes rap now.
>>34421145He is an inspiration. Tragic. He really was the Scatman. I wonder what else he had to offer that was lost.>>34421435I started my instrument late but I practice every day. I studied acting, writing, film, and lots of other stuff. >>34421272>>34421293I won't get my hopes up. I will focus on making good songs and then marketing.

>>34420566If your objective is to play music for fame then your work is already guaranteed to suck. Just play for fun with your friends. It doesn't have to go anywhere
>>34421639Johnny Cash played well into his 60s and I've seen a shit ton of old people where I work play music. Don't let your dreams of being a musician fall apart. Yeah you won't get screaming hot girls, but you will fulfill your affinity for the desire you have that is music, and it will be honored like art.
>>34421960Yeah but he was already famous and resting on laurels
>>34421976Again, you won't get hot girls, but you will be an artist. Hell, if your grandpa can play music on an acousitic guitar and sound good, what is stoping you. Go to church and you'll see old dudes playing music too s. The only thing that'll happen though is there won't be any hot girls.
Pretty sure alice cooper just woke up one day in his 40s and decided to become a rockstar. But lets be real, that story ends with you living under a bridge 99 times out of 100
>>34422031Unless you balance it.
>>34422044no such thing as a half way rock star. You gotta go all in if you are gonna make it. Espeically as a 40 year old
>>34421984You don't think ANY hot girls would like me? I think some would.
>>34420566In the era of Kpop you're over the hill at 15.
>>34422085There's only like ten 15 year olds left outside of Afreeqiye.
>>34420566Define rockstar. You can do it easily locally if you have the charisma and talent. But nationally it's more about who you know and how many dicks you're willing to suck.
>>34421639You just gotta focus on the grind, if you are committed enough, the result will come>>34422052This 100%, OP needs to throw himself in regardless of the opinions of anons>>34422085K-pop is a totally different game. The k-pop industry standards don't apply outside of it as much
>>34421639>I wonder what else he had to offer that was lost.Hard to say. His only album prior was a jazz album in the late 80s (as he was a jazz musician) and then he suddenly had the Scatman album in the mid 90s. I think given more time, he might've gone back to his jazz roots, as mixing that in with things like trip hop was getting pretty big and the 2000s got pretty experimental. He did have two more albums while he was alive but he was really suffering from cancer by the last one that he was still alive for.So you can still get there even really late in life, you just have to be dedicated and really have something to offer.
>>34420650What if you're 20 and don't know any drummers
>>34421960Tina Turner was shaking her booty into her 80s
The age of heavy metal is over. You probably would've had a better shot at 30 if you were alive during the 80s or late 70s
