I am bedridden for at least another month, and nobody to interact with. What's worse is I've been journaling and drawing so much I got carpal tunnel. Can't do shit!!
So I've let myself be depressed and watch stuff like War Horse, Grave of the Fireflies, Neverending Story, so on... but I've indulged too much and I'm tired of puffy sinus.
What movies make you happy every time you watch them? Something with simple, pure goodness ideally. I'm feeling a bit too sensitive for a rollercoaster but I'd write it down for later if you know something good.
Songs, short films, audiobooks, visual novels, anything else that's minimal clicking welcome as well.

Harvey and Redbeard are two movies that may fit the bill. As for books, I'd recommend Epictetus's discourses and Boethius's consolations. As a Man Thinketh is good too, if you want something a bit more modern and accessible.

I hope you fell better soon, both physically and in terms of mood.

Did you mean Amelie? I couldn't find an Amalie. added others though!

I really like Kikujiro. I remember that being pretty heartwarming.

Some other films I like that might fit the bill depending on your taste
>The Green Green Grass of Home (1982)
>August in the Water
>Eat Drink Man Woman
>Departures
>Only Yesterday
>Mud
>O brother where art thou

Listen to the Beach Boys' Discography, it's more worth your time than you think.

Movies:
>Superbad (my favorite comedy ever)
>O Brother (suggested multiple times itt)
>Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
>Fantastic Mr. Fox
>Ratatouille

As for books, read Forrest Gump by Winston Groom. It's a little more lighthearted and whimsical than the movie, which is also great.

I’ve stopped watching sad stuff and resolve not to. I believe unless life intends to show me sadness, I shall try my best not to consume sad media. I watch silly cat videos, I watch babies cackling and laughing, I watch some stand up comedy. You must remember, earlier generations used to go through far worse shit but they kept their spirits up, they kept it up anon regardless of the circumstances. They sang songs, danced, acted silly and laughed whenever someone farted. But do not confuse it for toxic positivity. Be real but be joyful.

>What movies make you happy every time you watch them?
"A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum", "Amélie", "The Incredibles", "Bringing Up Baby", and "Some Like It Hot".

Amélie must be good, I only know of it from FitGirl

There's this scene where she rings and this weird looking guy opens the door, basically the male equivalent of her, and she just looks disgusted and goes away. I wonder if it's a reference to another french film called "Thomas est amoureux" that came out a year before.

You're probably already familiar with it, but I think Frieren is pretty good in that aspect. It isn't like most other popular stuff in the sense that it doesn't focus on action, but rather on appreciating life, and its beautiful yet fleeting moments.

I dunno, it always made me smile and be thankful, at least.

In any case, I wish you well OP. Hope you recover and feel well soon.

Naked gun movies are pretty funny, maybe look into watching some comedy series like Black Adder or Allo Allo, if can stomach it. Lastly there are some good documentaries, I personally like history farm, if you find the entire series you will spend around 12 hours per series so it's a good time waster.

>>34433053
for nature stuff I recently watched Island of the Sea Wolves. very cool
