>Went off my meds
>Was on Wellbutrin
>Started taking control of my life and had optimism
>went off 2 months afterwards
>About to get fired from my job
>House is a mess
>Nothing feels good other than gooning and alcohol

Should I get back on meds? Cause I'm literally dysfunctional without them but I don't wanna be dependent on a pill

Yes

No. Meds can't fix an undisciplined personality. If you want to be happy, healthy and self reliant then you have to build towards that character. External things like drugs and other people can't do it for you, although you can find help in the form of guidance.

Antidepressants typically work through "emotional blunting' which lowers the intensity of sympathetic responses to stimuli be it outward (your environment) or inward (your own thoughts/memories). This is good if you're on the verge of suicide or if your feelings are so overwhelming in the present they end up hindering your "behavioral rehabilitation".
However they are a temporary solution that only serves to alleviate rather than cure. They're supposed to make it easier to make the various stuctural/behavioral changes in your life required to be a well functioning human being. Unfortunately, this portion of the process is often neglected. This is not surprising. Why make those changes if you are no longer feeling the agony you once did? Additionally, it's hard to keep track of what does and doesn't cause you distress when that feeling has been dulled.
The irony here is that pain is both the thing we want to escape and the primary measure for progress. We can't know how much better we're doing with out it.

Before we go into what you CAN do why don't you tell us what you ARE doing now? What changes have you made in your life since you've started taking welbutrin? What is your life like? Hobbies? Exercise? Friends? Etc?

This is completely accurate. You cannot use as your crutch forever.
You should try to build up hobbies - they don't wave to be the basic pottery or whatever. Can be literally anything you enjoy.
But don't let it become an obsession. Everything needs balance.
You don't have to do it too fast as you might overshoot and taking meds to help you get there is absolutely fine.
Everyone's timeline is different, keep pushing yourself - but never rush things

>Nothing feels good

>enable you to make changes in your life
*family/friends/money/therapy/romantic partner aid required. ideally more than 1.
it is practically impossible to do it alone.

Evidently they were doing that very thing before he went off them, retard

He said Wellbutrin, which is an NDRI so it doesn't do that at all.

Then how could he have stopped taking them? A disciplined and responsible person doesn't stop taking something they need, so by definition the pills did not make him responsible or disciplined, thus he needs to find a way to do it without pills.
