I've decided to start a custom cable business in which I'd made specific length and connectors according to the costumer's needs. The thing is I'm having lots of self-doubt, sometimes I think it's just a dumb thing to start a business with and I fucked up buying supplies to start it up and it will die within 6 months with no orders.

Am I just being gay or am I fucked up?

Calculate a budget. Can you afford the supplies? It sounds like a good business idea to me and one you can do while keeping your dayjob. Also, try just making common cords and lengths and sell those on ebay or Amazon as an alternative market to the custom cords

Don’t start off by buying shit. Start with performance of service to fulfill customer needs, even if that involves buying stuff. Don’t just go buying a bunch of crap thinking you gotta spend money to make money. That’s what they want you to think, so you can fail. Yeah, I would branch out in addition to audio, using the same/similar equipment and facilities. You can do stuff like bolt in kits for electric radiator fan conversion or popular fog light combo. There’s probably already drawings out there or you can do more complicated builds based on customer request for much more than audio. Use the best tools and materials, of course. They should be made available to you at wholesale, so you can keep your costs low.
Is this an online only business?

just don't expect it to feed you until you can get it to scale. Margins on cables used to be hundreds of percent until the rise of the internets and monoprice-type direct marketers. competition has shrunk margin like crazy.
