so I finished my part of an assignment for college, but my partner hasn't started their part yet.

Talk with the dude, put some pressure discreetly, avoiding being to confrontational if you can. Talk every day, ask if they're having problem with it, offer to give some help if it's the case.

But If it's like the day before the limit and he hasn't done anything, just do what you can, deliver the assignment, but then talk to your teacher and say that the other dude didn't help, that you had to do everything alone. Makes you feel a bit like a rat, but dude's gotta learn that it's just disrespectful. One thing is if they're humble and admit they're having trouble or if they have some justification for it, the other is the dude just disappearing without a trace.

I fucking hated group assignments for this reason, I much rather do this shit alone. If I succeed, good for me, and if I fail, at least I ain't dragging no one's grade down but mine.
