How do I drop edginess without becoming picrel?High school ended six years ago but my sense of humor hasn't changed in a super meaningful way. This is mostly because it didn't need to, my primary friend group was all alt right guys who joked about Jews and black people. Now I'm not friends with them anymore and I'm finding it kinda hard to adapt to being around everyday people at bars and stuff. Obviously I know better than to make Jew jokes or say nigger in public but I still call stuff gay and retarded and I'm kinda at a loss when socializing because I lean on right wing humor so much, even if I'm not really right wing myself, I just think it's funny. But with the kinda people I hang around I don't think they'd appreciate that, I especially don't want to offend my apolitical buddies. I really don't know how to move on from that stuff without becoming a prude.

I would tell "dark jokes" in high school to get laughs, but you get older and realize that dancing around saying the n word is a lot funnier than just dropping a hard r in the middle of the room. Replace it with something, fill it in with something inane or nonsensical like "chud" or "stank ass," or say that something is "green"—something foolish or just funny to say. >>34448988Just expand on your sense of humor. Humor is all about subverting crowd expectations and having a variety of things to joke about is fun. If you don't make racist jokes your identity it makes the times when you do make those jokes actually funny.
