How to stop indulging in mindless escapism?
>>

Browsing the internet, high palatable food and porn have been the only pleasurable things going on in my life in the last 10-12 years. I'm 23 now. Loneliness, depression, perfectionism and self-loathing have become core aspects of my personality and sources of suffering/struggle.

Touch grass but unironically. The outdoors is good at reminding you the world you live in and I find it rather motivating. Also read up on a spiritual framework that's coherent to you because once I learned that this world only exists to get experiences and form memories I stopped caring for simulations.

Although vague I guess it can be a sounding advice, especially for me, since I had overprotective parents and interacting with the outside end up being a neglected aspect of my upbringing. Do you mind expanding on it a bit? I believe I tried and failed multiple times to implement "touching grass" as an actionable advice.

In the risk of sounding cringe/pathetic, I've been drawn to stoicism and zenith Buddhism, but once again, I rarely manage to stay consistent enough to make any long-term changes using said spiritual/mental frameworks. To be honest with you, I've already wasted too much fucking time in idleness looking for motivation and a ultimate and definitive "fix" to all my problems.

Go to empty parks, go hiking or explore really anything that involves large fields of grass. You need to be isolated from technology and heavily crowded areas to escape hypersocialized communities.

You only learn things through experience. I'll also say that learning rituals and stuff right now isn't really helpful since they only exist to reinforce transcendental experiences which you currently lack. Just use these traditions to understand that your life has meaning and that doing good and appeasing your conscious are the same thing.

Get over your anxiety and go meet/talk to people, trust me if you don’t your brain starts to lose grey matter in a few years

Not cringe at all. Western religion is just a crutch to justify hubris and greed. Eastern practices have been profound to my life.
