In college and have a friend who's making beats in FL studio and wants to be a producer?I don't know how serious he is, but he bought expensive headphone and has been using cracked FL studio to make beats. But It's getting in the way of his life. He has a midterm in 2 days, a shift at 4am, and he's making beats at midnight. He even asked me to send a previous midterm, only for me to walk in on him making beats. He tried going pro at Valorant in high school but made it to Radiant i.e top 1000 in region and capped. The way he described it, it was almost a obsession. I think that might have something to do with this.I know im hyper-analyzing and autism maxxing, but idc, should I bother trying to tell him he's being retarded or should I just let him do his thing.
>>34453872Other than a casual "Don't you have an exam coming up to study for?" this is absolutely and totally none of your business.
>>34453872He is throwing his life away and there is nothing you can do about it. Focus on your life and be supportive from afar, you don't want him to ask you for money down the line.
I remember using fruity loops like an eternity ago, surely they have better software that serious producers are using at this point
>>34453872If I were in your shoes and knew the guy like a brother, I'd probably try to have a heart to heart with him and tell him that his pro musician aspirations don't need to come at the expense of his schooling. If he's just a friend you've had for a few years, I think the first reply gave you good advice.Hopefully your friend figures out sooner rather than later that people get famous doing those things he wants to be famous for because they have a passion for the craft, not a desire to be famous.>>34454751I still like Fruity Loops, but I am a total amateur. Pro Tools is still the standard for pros as far as I know.Reaper is another pretty popular DAW these days.
