I really need a job. Im 30 and have never worked any job in my life. I want to find something niche and mildly in demand but consistent. I want to start right away. I don't need to make more than $30k. I don't know what to look into. I don't know how to find apprenticeships. I found about farriers. I think that's the vein of niche skilled trade and craft thatd interest me. But I can't drive a car so that specific one isn't really an option. The only experience doing anything is repairing some small electronics and soldering. I think I'd like that kind of workshop type of thing. The typical trades like hvac electrician carpentry etc don't really appeal to me
>>34454159Go to a temp agency and work a few jobs you don't like so you can put them on your resume. There are temp agencies for day labor in construction. There wre ferrier schools and the training isn't long. Do temp jobs and save some money to go to the school and then start looking for boarding stables to apply to and actually get comfortable with horses and see if there is a ferrier you can network and apprentice with. I don't know that you'll be able to catch up with kids who grew up going to jump events and rodeos.
>>34454170>>34454170Well the problem is I can't drive and that seems core to the farrier lifestyle. Driving a truck or towing gear is something im extremely uncomfortable doing. In my area trades generally don't pay even after apprenticeship and with all the trimmings nor is there much demand. Also English speakers are rare. I've been told to fuck off and laughed at by asking for apprenticeships or even advice.
>>34454159> repairing some small electronics and solderingWe have plenty of businesses around here that assemble electronic parts together into a finished product. You could try that.
>>34454377So drive. That is no kind of excuse. That is what teenagers do to become adults.
>>34454159There aren't any
>>34455565I haven't really found any such thing. Its not exactly a typical skilled trade people talk about. Sounds like more of just a business gig. And consumer electronics are moving towards not being repairable aren't they? I think I'd like some atelier workshop type of situation but that is long dead. I'm awful with heights and most trades won't let you just work in the shop especially if you're new.>>34455633Sorry, but its really not something I can do.
>>34454159It's going to be hard to find a job at 30 with 0 experience. The one thing that comes with age is work experience. But you having nothing makes you come off as lazy and a bum. I'd suggest starting with getting your OSHA 10 cert and CPR cert. Those a both really easy, fairly cheap, and you can get them done in a weekend. They won't guarantee you a job, but you're in desperate need for some extra points on your resume. And those certs do cast a wide net.
>>34457070Why can you not drive, Faggot? Are you missing all your limbs? Are you blind?
>>34457070It’s not for consumer electronics. It’s industrial electronic systems for industries like security. The components are made all over the world but someone still has to wire them all together into a single chassis and enclosure because the specific configurations required are different between sites.
>>34457526Thank you I will pursue these.>>34458112Sounds interesting. How would I Start? Is that under electrician?
