Why do I need constant validation and approval for the things I like?

Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria? Are you autistic and/or ADHD?
>>
>>34459262
Because you care about what other people think of you and you want them to like the things that you like. Things that you like may also be seen as a reflection on your character.

Not a bad thing, but it is healthy to understand that it is okay when someone doesn't like a thing that you like. I'll have a friend who likes A B and C. I may only like thing B, and I might even hate thing C. Depending on what those things are, this will affect my opinion of my friend, but as long as I am not overly judgemental, it shouldn't make or break the friendship.

Like the things that you like. Don't just stop liking something because others around you don't like it or don't think that you should like it. (Unless it's for a health or safety reason.)

yes

It's not really people just not liking something I like, it's when people provide well-reasoned arguments criticizing things I like, or when seemingly intelligent people don't like what I like. It triggers something in my brain that makes me hyper-fixated and anxious

Because you are a social animal, however you should remember we evolved from rapist chimps and realize society is a pyramid scheme and everyone else is self-interested.

Nothing good comes from wanting to belong to something, people just won't accept you. Find your own group of friends to be loved by.

You didn't get enough hughs or 'I love you's' as a child, so you need strangers validation. Abandonment wounds in essence

Don't let other people's opinions run your show.
