>Susceptible to "all or nothing" thinking, which more often results in doing nothing
>Excels at planning chores and improvement, but poor at executing
How does one stick to small steps to maintain order in life?

Not sure why I bothered asking. This board is too pathetic for good advice, and this issue clearly isn't depressing enough to be appealing to the people who bother replying.

Just work. The more time you spend working the more you will notice your own patterns of perfecting things that shouldn't exist. The more efficient you will become.

Oh you little shit. The simplest answer is usually the right one. But here's a trick that helps me get to work when I don't want to: Leverage inertia and change your 'state'. Once you do something you'll automatically do it for the next 5 minutes.

The reason that shit doesn't work is because perfectionism permeates every aspect of the person's life, so you try to micromanage every little detail in your life, you waste mental effort and work your emotions up doing menial things like talking to people. It doesn't help to "practice" because things not going your way the first few times erode your motivation to keep pursuing the rest of things in your list. Then it links to procrastinating, you quit one task and shift to the other hoping you can do it well, you get frustrated, you shift to the next, you get frustrated. Your day went and you pursued 5 different things today, tomorrow you will pursue a set of 5 different things. You dedicate a fair share of time to 10 different things you want to excel at during your week. And no, you can't let go and focus on one job and one hobby, because dropping the rest means you gave up on your dreams, or that you won't show wrong people who bullied you, or some other internalized shame like that.

That's why it doesn't cut it to "just werk!"

what if you change your mindset from "i have to do my chores because of [positive outcome]," and instead "if i don't do five minutes of chores that means i'm gay"

gay panic is a well documented supermotivator, it can even drive a man to murder

if you are already gay just use "double gay" or if you are already double gay use triple or whatever

Unironically, fear is a better motivator than rewards

True, motivated to stay loyal to each other, to obligations, to values.
