I should stop playing videogames. I mean. I love playing them, especially competitive FPS games. But everytime I play, I have this nagging voice in the back of my head telling me that I'm wasting time. That I'm "behind" and all that. I've been gaming my whole life and only up until now I started to have this problem.
How do I get rid of it? What's the cause of it? Is it guilt?

Give it a break, play with friends only.

If you were meant to be doing something else, wouldn't you be doing it already?

For every time you are playing a game, there is another person who is watching a whole tv show in a day and also "wasting tim". Have fun and don't be so rough on yourself Anon

I don’t feel any of that when I play video games.

Do you have a job? Do you do anything else with your life?

I dont have any friends. Not even online ones.

True. But I think this is due to conflicting interests. I like gaming more than doing the thing I'm supposed to be doing.

I suppose you are right.

I have a job. Two actually. The days that gaming isn't possible (Wednesday-Saturday) are spent working because I'm too tired to hop on the PC after work so I go to sleep. I realistically have about ~32 hours of possible gaming time but that's if I really can.
I guess I feel this way because the jobs I work are minimum wage and my father keeps giving me these speeches, that I should be doing something productive everyday. He's right though.

*motivational speeches

He is right, you should not be a neet/leech like a lot of the people on this website. But you have a job (two infact) so you are productive. Maybe upskill so you only need one and get more free time. If you are actually behind on life and/or want to explore other avenues set the games aside for a while. However if you are already getting stuff done then it's fine to relax. Nobody is productive 100% of the time.

You could be like me who listened to that voice and barely plays any more but ended up using that newly acquired free time browsing and posting on 4chan
