Last year I quit my job to get surgery and recovery, prior to that my grandmother fell down the stairs going to pick up her mail and broke her leg. She couldn't move for 3 months and because I was in recovery without a job, I ended up taking the role of caretaker for my grandmother. I am saving my family $50,000 a year in home care because America. I ended up taking a gig job that I do once or twice a week and earn about $5-600 a month on days when my mother can help out instead. My aunt owns her own business which is not doing well, my uncle and his wife both work, my cousins all have jobs.I got a call from my student loan company saying that payments will begin again next month. I don't make enough money to pay that, what little I earn goes to food and bills while caring for my grandmother. They threatened to garnish my wages, garnish it of what? I have $30 in my account, I haven't been paid in 2 weeks, I'll get $200 this friday which I have to use for food. They told me to get another job. I'm literally caring for my grandmother! My family can't afford $50,000 a year, someone has to be with her and right now only me and my mother can do it and my mother has her own life. Can they force me to pay more money than I earn? Can they garnish my wages when I make poverty wages? Can they force me to get a job and abandon my grandmother by forcing payments? I don't know what the deal is here.
>>34476316Get more money and you won’t have these problems. Don’t be a lazy fuck. Taking care of family is a responsibility, not a job.
The government will take your last $30 and won't give a shit. They will also have the bank hold any future deposits before you can withdraw them and they will take that too. They are ruthless. They will take every penny and spend it on free gibs for brown people.UNLESS you apply for low income forbearance. You must do this soon and file the right forms and all that. This is your only hope.Don't wait. They will take it all and won't give a shit.
idk how it is in the usa but in central europe we have something called "garnishment protection accounts" they cannot take money from that account up to until you have 1000€ in your account if i rember correctly (but one needs to go to their bank and transform their account to that). also they cannot make you take on debts to repay. but they can force you to sell your property/house(s)usually people take a (free) lawyer/mediator/ombudsman for such matters. but your mistake in the first place was to take on debts.if you cant repay at all, i would file for bankruptcy (50k dollaridoos are in the zone for it being advantageous), but make sure you are probably declared as living in ur grandmas house. because at least in europe they cannot legally make you lose your house/property and make you homeless.you really should act quickly now. best would be to have a free lawer who knows all the nooks and cranks of the legal systemgood luck OP
>>34476316You are in the US right? ...right? There is a program to get paid by medicaid to take care of your elderly. Get it.
