I remember years ago I had a dream that was quite unlike anything I had ever experienced before. I was basically in this dark void, similar I guess to what you would call space, and then something happened. I started feeling this loud vibration sort of starting to go through my body. I think it started from my feet and worked it's way upward toward my head. This vibration also has an electric component. The electricity was running through me faster and faster and harder and harder as the vibration was going up my body. By the time it had reached my head, my entire body was violently shaking like as if I was in an earthquake.

So I was being electrocuted while being shaken around. But at the same time, it didn't hurt. There was no pain. Just the feeling of electricity going through me. And I could definitely hear it too. That and the vibrations.

I woke up in my bed in real life and I was fine.

What the fuck happened to me? Surely that wasn't just a dream?

You were dreaming about being born

Do people get electrocuted as they're being born?

What if it was actually a seizure? Or some weird shit happening with my brain?

What if it wasn't?

What if I was having an out of body experience? Like astral projection?

What do you think it feels like to come out of a nice comfy womb into a bright hospital room, being hung by your feet and smacked?

I would bet that you experienced some kind of physiological event while asleep as a result of what you did leading up to that night: think about what you did the night before. Drugs, food, exercise, food allergens, alcohol, caffeine, sleep deprivation, were you sick, did you have ulcers, did you do something weird like eat fugu fish and get partially paralyzed, etc. basically your body controls your dream state heavily. That's my take to help you figure it out

Not exactly the same, but I've had a couple black nothingness + physical moments in dreams. The scariest one was when I was 11-12, wandering a construction site in the desert in the middle of the day and feeling a disturbing presence. I hid in a large concrete pipe but then a shadowy figure appeared in front of it and announced itself as god. Everything went black and its voice got louder and louder and I felt myself trembling under its imposing power. Then I entered a quasi sleep paralysis state where at first I felt nothing, it was like tingling sensations floating through ether, then gradually the physical sensation of my covers over my body began to creep in alongside the distant voices of my brothers, until suddenly I realized my brothers were right there in the room with me having been playing with action figures for an hour, apparently not noticing anything strange from me. For a while I genuinely thought I was teleported to an alternate dimension.
