Today is my Birthday =D, and I'm turning 22yo today, and I feel good, really good, but I also feel LOST and need advice before I sink into a gloomy grim mindset again.

In short, I enjoy my music my vidya, hangingout with my Frens and propounding my philosophy...I'm not hooked on any drugs, I'm not engaged in any immorality, or anything like that. I'm a professional upstanding citizen type, but it has recently struck me that if I continue to live a boring peaceful life I will go nowhere and it will have no impact whatsoever, and that I need ACTION in my life, but IDK where to begin, and I actually want to get on with something and move on with my life.
Life has been boring me to tears, when life should be electrifying and inspirational...Right now its falling flat, but I have never lost hope even when disillusioned and disenchanted, and I have hung on.

Says who?
Boredom is a completely normal part of life. You're setting yourself up for failure by thinking your life should be like an exciting video game.
To get anywhere you'll need to work hard and most of the time that's boring as fuck.
Firstly you'll need a goal though. Think of a career path that you may like. Luckily you can ask chatgpt a million questions and you'll have the infinite knowledge of the internet there to give you ideas as to what career path you should go.
But yea, adjust your expectations. That's first.

Happy birthday OP, we share the same birthday today. I'm a deal older than yourself though lol. I wish we could have swapped lives when I was your age, my life was too much action, too much chaos. I would tell you to be grateful for your peace and slow comfort but I know that too much of that can also be a bad thing. Life is about balance, sometimes you need chaos or action to help you appreciate the peace you have. My advice to you would be you might want to chase risk, get into an activity that threatens your life. I don't mean crime or anything but things that out you into survival or something, or tests your bodies capabilities in a way that carries injury or risk of death such as mountain climbing or something that direction. Risk is man's mistress, almost every man who ever lived when they are old and are asked what their best days of their lives were they most commonly tell a story where they almost died, and they tell it with a grin on their face.

Congrats, anon.

Is it possible that you still didn't quite grasp the meaningless of it all? I didn't and don't mean this in an insulting way. But you won't leave an lasting impact anywhere. I think it was Ernest Becker who wrote about the immortality project. Basically that humans fear death and can't accept that life leads nowhere. They fear to be completely forgotten and insignificant. They know that their physical self will die though, so they try to make an impact in a ideology, system, career or something similar for the sole purpose of not being forgotten.

>life should be electrifying and inspirational
Where did you hear that? Not fearing for your existence or sanity every day seems to be a privilege (that I share too). If it is action you want, you can always enlist in the army or try terrorism or something. You honestly remind me of fucking Fight Club. That modern male has no conflict, no higher ideal, no pain. I think Konrad Lorenz talked about a similar thing happening that is basically a pathological rudimentary aspect of human ethology to our modern civilization. He called it Heat Death of Emotion. Everything we want to achieve consists of displeasure (cold) and rewarding pleasure (warm). F.e. Dog first has to hunt in order to enjoy a meal. Humans nowadays don't have that cold. We get every reward immediately without having to experience the cold. But without the cold the hot has little meaning and instead of heat the line flattens and we result in an indifferent state. He mentioned 2 solutions: Boring and/or intense work; failed suicide with lasting damage. A colleague told him that most people that try to kill themselves and loose their eye sight, never try again. They experience cold again and are supposedly happier than before. But don't try that. Its your birthday.
