Tomorrow I'm supposed to move from my apartment (that my dad is paying for) to this house. I know this is going to piss some people off, but I don't really like this area and I have an extremely boring life that I hate. I'm also supposed to graduate in Computer Science and the only jobs available seem soul-crushing and don't seem to pay well. I wish I could just leave or something, but my dad really wants me to stay around the area to look after his property after he dies. It just sucks here though in Nowhere, Midwest. Also I don't even see the point of planning for my future, what's the point in stressing myself out around people who literally do not exist (i.e. a future wife, children, etc.) I also feel like this will probably doom me to be a complete social pariah, while at least at university and at this apartment I had some IRL socialization through my teammates and bringing Tinder dates here.
Cope or rope. Nothing is ever going to get that good for you.
>>34484455you literally have one life. Do what you want and not what others want you to do. Why would you not be able to take care of the property after he dies in the future? He's still alive now. Are you stupid or dumb
>>34484455which house?
>>34484455If you had an idea you'd be on it, but you're empty so all you get is to follow other people's ideas.
>>34484455You can move wherever you want and fly back to watch the property after he dies. If he wants you to live in the property afterward, you can just smile and nod and go along with whatever he says. After he's dead, you can rent it out, or sell it, it'll be yours. Some people are all about respecting final wishes, but there is a degree where some people's wishes are stupid.I have a feeling your dad might be using "the property" as an excuse though. If you move away, he'll see you way less. There is no point on stressing about people who don't exist, but that doesn't mean you stop working to improve yourself, just in case you do want a family some day. You don't need to plan heavily for your future at 22. Often times these life plans fall through anyway. Plan to get through the next year or month. If the job situation isn't working out, use what you have until you can improve it. If you see something where your current skill set gets you a high paying job and that involves moving and you want to move, move.
