I have a solid career, but I’m asocial. A tech recruiter invited me to participate in a selection process for a senior software engineering role. I ignored the proposal for a few days, but the recruiter reached out to me again.

The problem is that a lot of my peers from university work at this company as juniors or mid level engineers, and it's a very big company. Some of them are very good engineers, and I think some may even be better than me. Just imagining going there and acting like some sort of senior around people who studied with me made me cringe. I refused the offer. Did I mess up? I’m already a senior at my current company, but the prospects of this role were much better I think.

Also, the tech recruiter said my profile was personally handpicked by their tech lead, I think he liked my portfolio, I have a lot of published websites out there. I'm thinking about deleting them from my socials and removing any reference to my name as well.

No. It contains personal information. I am afraid of sharing it even on LinkedIn. I just wanted to know if I did the right thing or if I was stupid and there's no reason to be afraid.

Also, I don't think it's impressive at all, so you're not losing anything by not seeing it.

alright, without seeing it, the answer is definitely between "you were being scammed, no one would seriously want that" and "you missed out on a real opportunity, you're underpriced for your skills"

hope this helps

How so? They are verified on LinkedIn with their company mail address. And as I said, I have a dozen of ex colleagues from university working there, it's a big company.

>you missed out on a real opportunity, you're underpriced for your skills
I didn't ask for career advice...

>hope this helps
It didn't. But thanks anyway.
