Do emotions "hurt" for anyone else? Like for other people they say they feel sad or angry but it's just an emotion they can work through, but when I feel sad or angry it's physically painful in my chest and so powerful that trying to do anything productive just makes it overwhelmingly "painful" and makes you immediately seek comfort and rest afterwards. How can you get through these feelings and being productive without antidepressants?

Try some breathinh exercises or other destress techniques. Idk. Your emotions sound way more intense than most

meditation. you can't control what emotions are going to seize your consciousness, but you absolutely do have the choice whether you will experience them as suffering. the thing stupid people do is immediately always identify with their emotions or thoughts, but you don't have to. the thing where you're driving on the interstate and you just want to jerk the wheel and see what its like to plunge off a bridge but don't can be applied to pain and cravings in general. don't attach yourself to something just because you feel it and you can move past it easier, it just takes consistent practice

Have you been assessed for things like ADHD and autism? This sounds more like a neurodivergent thing than depression.
