i want to move away from my mother. reason being, she is a piece of shit and i dont like her. i tried running away before but came back because i got sick and nearly died. my mistake was not planning it out.

i want to move out for my piece of mind. i feel like im not a real adult until im responsible for myself. but i live in an expensive ass city. im gonna guess 90% of people who live here live with their family. but i hate my family so i feel suffocated. im 26 and i dont know if I can handle still living with my mom even at 30.

what would you do?

Lightly plan because just like you have experienced, the best laid plans can awry. You can try to work things out with your family, but it's really not your responsibility to either. And depending on how bad they are it can definitely be fruitless.

I would just weigh my options as best I can and determine how much of a suffering threshold I can stand. No one actually sane will blame you if you don't want to live in your car for months on end. Just remember that sometimes it's best to live on the edge than with people who you hate.
