I impregnated my wife and now I'm filled with reality-shattering dread.
We're fine though, each other firsts, have our own paid house, no debt, earn fairly well, healthy family, both our parents are close-by, life isn't bad. If I'm not ready to have a kid now, I'll never be ready in this life, and she also wants many kids.
But immediately after, I sensed immense dread, I almost felt sick to my stomach and now I keep thinking about it.
Is it true you're never really ready for children? My only consolation is that it was planned, and we have talked about it pretty much since day 1 (married for 3 years)

My advice: do a DNA test as soon as the kido is born. You don't want to discover 18 years later down the line they aren't yours. We know, we know, you trust your partner or whatever. It doesn't matter.

You wanted this, now live with your decision.
