I had to wash dishes for minimum wage. That was bad enough. I tried making myself valuable by washing the shitter and vacuuming the office and delittering the lot. All I got for a raise was an explanation that the business only makes so much money so, I finished the day and never came back. I learned a lot about the economics of things while I was stewing. Hopefully the owners did too. Much of that unfortunately comes from bosses being too generous and getting walked on in the beginning. Then they become bitter butthurt and can’t afford to pay good people.

Kinda. Boss was very patronizing and acted superior, guy i worked near was a genuine psychopath and work was pointless.
I just acted more and more reckless, (didn't effect anyone really) until they fired me and I left happily and felt so fucking good. I didn't outright quit because it was my first job and I didn't know what else i would do. Took two years to kinda figure that out.
My next boss wasn't a dick but just kinda retarded, but it gives me the advantage because I'm so much more of an asset since he keeps getting himself into stupid situations and I can easily get us out.

I always tell them I'm leaving, but only good employers get advance notice. One time I gave two weeks' notice to be polite (at one of the worst jobs I've worked) and they immediately cut my hours to zero.

They are always bitching about this alleged money they make for the company but I do not see any of that. My old boss was mistreating me. I didn't quit because I only cared about the money, and whether my boss was a jerk or not didn't change my salary.
It was the company itself that fired me because I had a fight with my boss. The funny thing is that they told me it would be difficult for me to get a job because I had a fight with my boss, and in less than 10 days I was already working at another job. :)

Money is the only reason I'm staying too and the owner of the company is actually really nice and pays us well. But my supervisor is just a bitter old man that takes out his frustrations on us and over time it wears me down. Well, the boss was less of an asshole than the other guy I was working with who bossed me around. There was only 3 of us. I feigned a mental episode on a Thursday after lunch and went home. Didn't come in Friday, the actual boss rang me in the afternoon, I told him I quit and would be there on Monday first thing to collect my stuff. By then they'd already changed the locks and "borrowed" some shit out of my toolbox ("oh was that yours?") so I had to dig around for half an hour looking for it. Then as I was getting into my car to leave they both came out and talked to me, blew smoke up my arse for more than 30 minutes about some bullshit I don't remember.

The next job I had had the best workplace culture I'd ever seen. The bosses were great, said hi to everyone every day. All the people that worked there were all super friendly. The work was varied and interesting, I learned a lot of new skills. Just the pay was a bit low and it was nearly an hour drive away.

I quit my job in 2021 because the manager told me they always showed me respect.

I endured 10 years of verbal harassment and bullying, only stayed because people kept saying "If you work hard, you will win them over" Stupid on my part to believe them. They even threatened to fire me if I took the day off to go to my brother's funeral in 2015. They said NO company offers bereavement leave and they needed me there.

Yeah I was once reprimanded and called into the bosses office for checking my phone at some point when I was working at target. I was clearly one of the least lazy people they had and this bitch thought it was appropriate to come down on me over this. So I never never showed up again. I didn’t even need the pitiful paychecks they gave me I mostly was working there just to be able to say I had a job I guess
