I was laid off like 7 years ago and never could find another job. Eventually blew through my savings and moved back in with my parents. Managed to get into a rather respectable PhD program, but never got any sort of assistantship or anything. Now they're offering me one and I have to give them a resume.

What the hell do I give them? Just get chatgpt to make shit up for me? I can't tell them I've been out of work for years.
