For the time being, I'm unemployed, so I'd like ideas of how to use my time productively instead of switching back and forth between 4chan and Youtube all day. Personal information below:
>Depressed loner; poor social skills; alienated from family; prone to escapism and other kinds of dysfunctional behavior
>No particular skills; passions and interests all went away over time.

Why are you unemployed?

Literally just consume/engage with media you enjoy. Pick up a book/anime/show and read/watch x chapters/episodes each day and stick to it.

I was working for 4 months as a salesman but my boss kicked me out. According to him, I don't have any charisma whatsoever to work in sales or anything that involves too much human contact, also said that my serious personality made the people there uncomfortable/uneasy. I don't if it's relevant but I've never worked in sales before and only got this job because I went around my neighborhood if there was someone hiring around here

At the risk of sounding like the Howie poster, I have to say that I don't really know how to enjoy media anymore. I've always been prone to all sorts of escapism(vidya, anime, porn, food, etc.) since an young age. In 2018 I don't know what happened, but I just became a sad weirdo who couldn't enjoy anything. Maybe I ran on the hedonistic treadmill for too long and now I have anhedonia or something like that. Now I just wake up and distract myself waiting for the day to end.

You have a job. Your job is "Looking for a job." Devote yourself to it as if you were being paid by the hour.

Yeah, I think I know what you mean.
We're fried, you and I.

Not to discourage you in your attempts at productivity, but I believe these two things are intertwined.
I feel like the days where I've been able to be most productive, were also days where I've been able to enjoy things, and since I can't enjoy things most of the time, most of the time I've been unproductive.
I could be wrong, though.
In any case, here's my advice:
No sense in waiting for it to go away, for it ain't going away on it's own.
And if you ever figure a way out of it, make sure to let me know.

My job of 10 years providing support for an industry specific software package was outsourced and I'm finding more and more that the habits (I'm not even calling them hobbies at this point) I had developed were about skipping time. Even how often I jerked it to anime was a stress response.
