How do I get rid of fleas from my house? I've washed the bedding countless times, put the clothes to wash and dry in hot temperatures and sprayed all over the house but I am still noticing bites. those things are in my clothes and bedding. what should I do? my wife is having a baby in 4 months on top of it. should I call the exterminator?
I have no pets!

>should I call the exterminator?
Yes.

Do you live in a house or apartment? Is there a big green area around your house?
>>
I live in an apartment with no garden

An exterminator probably isn't going to fix the problem. Bug bombs and sprays are useless if they're not getting to the source. The only difference between you and an exterminator is he might have a better idea where they're coming from. That space might not be accessible. Generally moist and dark. Get yourself some traps. They're sticky pads with lights that attract them, particularly useful at night. Vacuum daily. Spray lavender oil on your bedding. They're tough to get rid of. Persistence is the key.

you need an exterminator and to follow the procedure he tells you aka washing everything. I never had fleas again

yeah, that's the problem. Whoever built your apartment fucked up everything, it's very probable that there's an infestation and no matter how many times you call an exterminator you won't be able to rid your apartment from it. You'll have to find ways to prevent them from entering your apartment, you have to remember they can come from power outlets and sinks too.

Not an argument. That's how I solved a persistent flea problem.

If it's fleas, you need an exterminator. They live in the carpets. You need to spray every single square inch of carpet in the house, including under all the furniture.

But are you sure it's fleas and not (say) bedbugs? You can tell them apart easily because bedbugs run and fleas hop.

They can live inside sofas and mattresses, especially hard to get them out of these. We have plenty of pets here and had to sacrifice our beds when we had a flea outbreak. Have you noticed them walking around in any stuffed furniture?

I had a cat in my old house aho brought them there but due to extremely unlucky circumstances I carried in my luggage to the new place even though I hot washed all the clothes before moving

I am sure they're fleas, I saw them before.

I think they're inside the bedding and couch unfortunately. Do these things get inside the mattress? There no other way to explain they keep coming back to bite at night. I've washed the bedsheets several times

I'm not sure how deep they go into the mattress, but I'd bet on it, bedding and couch being the culprits. Not sure how an exterminator would help, but maybe he'll seal the furniture inside a plastic and release spray in there for a week? Also yeah, the night bites indicate they're probably on the mattress.

steam your carpets
you can alternatively vacuum every day for two weeks but trust me steaming is easier

probably don't need to throw your couch and mattress out if you can deep clean them, fleas in my experience don't get too deep into things to infest, unlike bed bugs. except carpet, they love carpet

Throw salt all over the place after every vacuum. It is like 41 cents for a plentiful supply. You can imagine what it does without me explaining.
