I have a degree, but I didn't retain any of the information from it and have been unemployed for five years. Realistically, how do I get a job here in the big city without resorting to factory work / McDonalds / getting shot by nignogs?
Also taking suggestions for fast track occupations that won't cost much and with little interaction with people.

HVAC and electrician and welding always seem to be in demand, you could find apprenticeships and go from there

Don't worry about all the book-learning you forgot. Take stock of the skills you developed while studying. A history major who could research Napoleon can research zoning regulations or legal cases. A CS major who could find the error in a page of code can proofread documents or analyse sales figures. Anyone who took a seminar in anything can brainstorm in small creative groups. Anyone who wrote a term paper can write anything.
