I can't bring myself to start tasks even when they are easy, are things I want to do, and are things I need to do with urgency

How do I just start working on something
>>
read atomic habits
you can't start doing things you don't want to do
>>
>>34524453
But I do want to do them
>>
Here is a bump OP. I want to know how to cure this shit once and for all
>>
>>34523944
2 approaches:
>Option 1: wait for something tragic to happen to you and your suffering will shock you into movement
>Option 2: start subdividing tasks into small enough bites that you can do. Ex: if you can't clean your room, clean half of it. If you can't clean half, clean your desk, etc. And start getting momentum on these solved tasks. With time it will get easier

You basically lack meaning and responsibility in your life, coupled with a lack of desire to achieve that meaning, and lack of role models. You are heading fast towards the first option 1, so one way or another you might actually be changing yourself for the better. But the option choice is yours of course

How to find meaning and gain responsibility in life?

My mother was a helicopter parent who never let me leave the house and no one wants to hire whenever I apply for jobs

give examples please

i struggle with this too, it's hard to motivate yourself
it's kinda telling when "nobody is coming to save you" is the best advice people give, but it's true advice

Meaning is closely linked with desire. You may think that it's easy to desire things, but in reality, a true desire is something few people can actually have and maintain.
Remember: you are the master of your own destiny always. Take it metaphysically, spiritually, scientifically, i don't give a fuck. This is the truth.

Here's a rough plan and some things to think about:

>Excitement and dreams. This is the key first step. Find what excites you and start really dreaming about your life. Unless clinically depressed, everyone is excited by some things.
Find stories which move you, characters or people you can look up to and admire and start observing and analyzing them.
Find out which stories you like because that will be indicative of what life you will have. And yes, if you are moved by tragedies for example, your life will be full of them.
Be very careful of what excites you, because it can lead you into tragedy or it can lead you in something beautiful.

>The work. After truly knowing what you want to be and how your life must look like you begin working towards that.
In order to get anything, you must first become the person capable of having that thing. Or else it will turn into a massive fuckup. Ex: people who win the lottery often fuck up their lives because they are not the kind of people to know how to handle that amount of money; as compared to someone who actually worked for their money and has the skills to handle it with care and wisdom.

>It truly starts within you, no matter how hard this is to grasp. THERE IS NO EXCEPTION TO THIS.
Your interior determines your exterior. ALWAYS manage your interior first, then the exterior will reflect that accordingly, without fail. Do not do this the other way around! Mind leads to matter, not the other way around.
Every obstacle is there for you to clarify! Clarify better what you are trying to achieve. Clarify what you do not want to happen and then what you want to happen.

>No one wants to hire whenever I apply for jobs
Is that really true? Or you don't want to lower your standards by taking jobs that seem beneath you.
As I said earlier, obstacles are there for you to clarify. Actually have an intention when you are applying for a job. If you have that desire first, then you wash toilets for a month, search for something else at the same time, and when another opportunity arises you go to another job and so on.
You see, the inside is all that matters and is what directs you. You have the clarity, the desire and know what you must become, and then the opportunities arise and you just do the work. It will always give you the perfect opportunity to get you where you want to be.

Fuck motivation. It is a short term strategy.
Indeed, absolutely nobody is saving you. These messages from me are probably the best "saving" you will ever receive.
Start admiring, start dreaming, start desiring with passion.
Watch your animes, your movies, read your stories, whatever moves you. Find truly admirable characters, people, stories and love them. You will naturally then find and build your own beautiful life.

But don't get it confused, without work and actually doing stuff, you will go nowhere. So, some habits to start while you begin dreaming and desiring

>Clean up your house
Non-negociable. The first and most necessary skill you need is to clean up your environment. Clean it thoroughly every week. Find out how much you can do and start from there.
If you can't clean your whole house, clean your room. If you can't clean your room, clean your desk, etc. Subdivide it until you can do it and do it regularly without ever skipping it
Your environment = your mind. It is impossible to have a tidy mind without a tidy house

>Cook
Learn to cook stuff. Be good at it. Not fancy diners or food that takes you half a day to make (although if you like it, go for it). Cook basic things and make them delicious and do it regularly

>start subdividing tasks into small enough bites that you can do

In my experience this doesn't actually help. I struggle to initiate tasks even when they can be done in like 5 minutes easily

Sometimes it's as simply as making a reply in a thread on /v/ where I'm invested in giving an anon a informative answer: Even if typing it out would take almost no time at all, if I am emotionally or mentally invested in viewing the reply as important for me to do, I will get anxiety around doing it
>>
>>34524459
no you don't, otherwise you'd do them
>>

If something takes only a minute, do now. If it takes longer, give it a minute anyway.
