this thread has probably been made before, i dont know. im not asking how to look more attractive, how to get people to like me, etc. the title is literally all i want.ive never been complimented before outside of empty ones that have nothing to do with my attractiveness (outfits, shoes, hair, etc.). its completely drained my self esteem, i developed an eating disorder at 15, and started isolating around the same time. i dont mean for this to be a bawww thread, im just giving background as to how its affected me>goal?i dont really care about trying to look good anymore. i literally just want to be okay with how i look. i want to be able to look in mirrors, take showers, and go outside like a normal person.>inb4 therapytherapy told me to do positive affirmations about how beautiful i am and it made me feel retarded.
Unironically plastic surgery
>>34524283i dont want plastic surgery, i literally just want to accept myself. i dont want to try to be attractive anymore, especially if it costs money
>>34524266I know it might sound like cope, but having good looks isn't everything in life. There's so much more to it, like your career, your skills, your accomplishments, your humor and all, that you can more than compensate for not looking good. Yeah having a good appearance helps in some situations, but I don't think it is as important as people sometimes think. If you're looking to be more accepting of your own appearance and life in general, you can try taking better care of yourself. Stuff like hygiene, going to gym (not to look good to others, but for the gains, to boost up your self-confidence), finding a hairstyle and clothes that you are comfortable with, developing your skills, acquiring more knowledge, that sorta thing.
>>34524309thank you anon! >your career, your skills, your accomplishments, your humor and alli think ive been so preoccupied and depressed with looks that i kind of forgot about these things lol. i think (hope) working on these things will help my self esteem!!
>>34524322Np mang, best wishes to you. Please take good care of yourself, OP.
>>34524337This feels oddly placed.
>>34524370How so? I just meant to wish him well, since I didn't think I had much more to say.
>>34524266Having charisma and confidence can completely make up for ugliness and those are skills that can be learnt with practice. If you are enjoyable to be around people will get used to your face.
>>34524266Develop a personality, or be successful at something, or be a genuine nice guy, or just be more than your looks, and your looks will not be the primary thing people see in you
