Option 1: Go to a kind of middling university near me, studying engineering. The only cons for this are that engineers may not be paid the best, the ability to secure a job & university debt.

I would have an interest in energy engineering, but whenever I look at job listings, it's in no way as popular as mechanical engineering or civil engineering. The other problem would be the fact that I have gaps in my employment history due to suffering with a debilitating OCD, which has thankfully loosened its grip in the past year. However, I am still being rejected from even part-time sales assistant jobs & cleaning jobs. If I can't even get basic jobs, I worry that I will never be able to get industry jobs as well. Then there is the fact that I would be a late student (starting at the age of 23), & I fear that by the time I finish, I will be too late to be able to start dating with a lack of experience. Of course I could date anyway in college, but then I run into the problem of funding my personal life, as I had stated before with the issues with employment.

Option 2: Go into the military & do 4 years as military police, then leave for civil police roles in one of the various constabularies (regular police, British Transport Police, Ministry of Defence Police & Civil Nuclear Constabulary). It will allow me to be eligible for a military pension; any children can apply for a few extra scholarships for children of service members, & it can be pretty decent pay (a regular base cop after 5 years can be making ~£50,000) I would also not have to worry about any student debt acting as an extra tax for me.

I would like to thank anyone for reading this & taking the time out of your day to reply to it!

Option 1. Do internships and whatever placements your university offers to maximize chances of employment after graduation

Maybe Britain is different, but in the USA the MPs are assholes. I've met several and they've all been parodies of bullying thugs. I wouldn't want to work with them
