How do you trust people?

Why should you?

It's not so much trusting as being willing to take a risk. Yes, there's always a chance of being hurt. But if the potential joy is greater than the potential pain you just cross your fingers and take the leap.

I can think of many reasons why i SHOULDN’T trust people
can’t think of any reasons why i should trust them… except convenience. I need to trust the bank, tech companies, computer and car manufacturers, etc., etc. so i can do my business and live my life. I don’t WANT to trust them and i DONT trust them, not fully, but i have to.

Find out their dark secrets. Then you can blackmail them and coerce them to be loyal to you.

Just DO it.
Once.
Then when they abuse or break your trust dont trust them anymore and tell them why.

this is a reason not to trust people
because there are people who think like you.
>>
If you don't trust anyone, no one will trust you.

That seems reasonable enough. Treat everyone as trustworthy until they prove themselves otherwise and then never trust that particular person again. Still, it means risking being taken advantage of by someone exceptionally crafty (or only moderately crafty, even).

Yup. But thats the gamble with trust. And you probably will be screwed over a few times. But you'll learn from it.
