While that's potentially true what do we even do with these intense emotions?
>>34536790Pain and anger, when applicable and suited to the situation are good.E.g. an athelete who is qualified for Olympics now trains with a visible goalUnnecessary pain and anger will eat your life away.E.g. Pows being tortured
>>34536790Use them to defeat the Nightlord
>>34536790it depends on what kind of person you are. if you're raised correctly to be self motivated then those feelings will motivate you further. if nobody ever taught you that confidence then the pain and anger will only fuck you up, waste your energy, and eventually subside into sadness and depression.
>>34536790feel them, let them wash over you when they occur but don't react.when you are done feeling them go back to your day.if strong emotions still linger, write out or draw your feelings uncensored. then rip up the paper and throw it in the garbage.it's not easy at first, but this is how you learn to master them. realize all feelings will pass and almost all of them are a bad driver for long term action unless you are in a genuine fight or flight situation (which is extremely rare in today's modern world)
>>34536790Literally calm down / control yourself. Strong emotions often get in the way of doing what's right, positive and negative. Whereas strong positive emotions sometimes have negative impacts, strong negative emotions almost never have positive results. You need to ground yourself in the mindful present and look at what you can do to make the situation better, and palpating anger and emotional pain is almost never helpful. Look for things like intense hope or radical acceptance.
