I have a 5 year gap in employment following covid where I just did fuckall.Have any anons here tried filling their resume with companies that went out of business years ago to fill gaps? Did you get away with it? Listing myself as former CEO of Enron is obviously retarded, but what about like some entry level wagie position at Bed Bath and Beyond? Who would they call to verify?
maybe just consider lying? Like idk saying that you took care of your retarded relative or some bs like that
>>34538716>maybe just consider lyingBut that's what I'm doing...? I wanna know if this specific method of lying can be pulled off or if they'll know I'm bullshitting. Also "self employment" on a resume just sounds like bullshit.
>>34538652I was worried about this. Nw I don't care. Say you were travelling after covid. Loads of people go backpacking for years. Also, if you're particularly crafty you can just buy a domain name of a fake company you made up and have them send an email to that and you answer it. I think there are even services you can pay to give you fake references.
they will just ask questions rapid fire about who your manager was or what the store identifier was and people that actually had those jobs will be able to say something instantly and autistic liars like you will just sit there stuttering a doy doy... they will instantly know
You can just be honest with complete shit companies and say you lived shut in your room and you're trying to get out of that rut. People understand that people on that socioeconomic level aren't perfect and you can likely scratch yourself a casual contract at least.
>>34538802Wdym by pulling it off? You tell them what you want to tell them and either don't give them any contact info or give them the phone number of a friend who's willing to lie and pretend to be a previous manager. How do you expect them to catch you in the lie exactly? You're way overthinking this.
>>34540336Bs advice. At least here in the rust belt this doesn't work. Most hiring now is handled by 3rd party hiring agencies that will scratch you off if you have no experience. "Being honest" will only get you insta booted from the applicant pool by an AI.>>34538652idk man, bumping in case someone has tried this. Just curious as I've managed to escape NEETdom (unless life fucks me of course).
>>34538652fIrst 2 years - unemployed due to covid and lockdownnext 3 - employed by family company as [insert something relevant to the job you're applying for]
>>34538652literally me.bump.
>>34540336>People understandMost hiring processes aren't run by people anymore. It's all automated AI.
