I'm autistic and I have this habit of buying clothes and then removing the labels and branding. I did this ever since I was young because I find the labels aesthetically bothersome.
The problem is, ever since my coworkers noticed this, they started finding me highly suspicious and it's making me nervous. My autism also often likes to make me act guilty when I'm not.
They think I got them illegally and now I'm in this strange situation where I'm raising eyebrows. How the fuck do I get out of this, it was hard finding a job to begin with.
They are not buying the "aesthetically bothersome" part which makes me feel even more stupid.

In my house, I also put duct tape over things that have logos or brand names on them like my TV or monitor. I never thought how sussy it looks to people.

How often are your coworkers seeing the inside of your collar anon???
Do they like pull back your collar and look at the fact the clothes don't have a tag on them? Even then, having a care tag on a shirt isn't an indication of theft to begin with. Many shirts are sold without label tags and print the care info on the inside because yeah it's uncomfortable. If you have magnetic store tags on your clothing, then you can start feeling guilty, Otherwise, I have no idea what you're coworkers are talking about, assuming you're not just being paranoid to begin with, which, I sympathize with of course. But like how dumb are you and coworkers?

People also get rid of labels because they rub against the skin and irritates them. My parents worked in dry cleaning and I have seen many people remove the labels from clothing for this reason.

Tell them to fuck off and stop meddling in your business.

Are you a teenager or something? Grown adults don't give a fuck about brand clothing. I also remove branding and tags from my clothes because it looks tacky.
