My mother wants to start an online business where she sells knicknacks she makes in her personal time. She wants facebook accounts, instagram accounts, a personal website, venmo, paypal and so much more, but she's terminally incompetent when it comes to technology and the internet. She can't even access her email accounts without getting frustrated and demanding me to hold her hand through it. I genuinely don't think she's capable of navigating online marketplaces without spending every moment in frustration or getting worked over by scammers. Even when I help her with things she struggles to internalize what I tell and show her and needs me to keep coming back to help her. How do I gently let her down and explain to her that it's okay to just sell her stuff locally and she doesn't need to set up and maintain some huge online presence for all this?

If you have siblings, set up everything on paper so they don't get the business away from you.
>>34544617Sorry pal i'm not spending the next 30 years running a business for my mom.
>>34544627>i'm not spending the next 30 years running a business for my mom.Not 30 years, stop being like that, she is your mom. It's so easy with AI, you can literally build all that easily and almost for free. The business will run on its own after the first steps, I can even help you build a website for free if that's what you need, but you'll have to buy a domain, hosting is very easy, or you can use shopify if you want a marketplace.
I wish my mom would start a business with me.
You'll regret it when she passes away, anon.
OP is a retard. He can help his mom and get paid to do all the online bullshit if it works. You never know you can make a small family business if you tried.
>>34544608Tell you will will help if she pays you as a consultant and use an app like Hours Keeper to track your involvement. Etsy as a marketplace has good training wheels, she should avoid facebook completely though as it's rife with scammers. She'll need Venmo, Paypal, or Stripe for payment processing.
>>34544608Do it gently. Suggest she try the local-in-real-life approach to test the market while you do the preparation for setting up the online business. With luck she'll discover the market is very small before you have to admit you haven't set up anything online.
>>34544608>My mother wants to start an online business where she sells her private videos and photosthat would totally work
>>34544617>Take care of your mom, take care of the operational while she does the knicknacks.Help mom with her side hustle, work a full time job, get 8 hours of sleep, have a full life, come on OP, are you a pussy?>>34544651>It's so easy with AI,Yeah why get scammed personally when you could tell codex to spin up a cloudflare worker and do it automatically.
>>34544608Maybe try to find a cheap and reliable guy on Fiverr from some 3rd world country to do this? After everything is setup it should be pretty low maintenance. Alternatively you could set it up but tell her she needs to maintain it. >Afraid of scammersMake her website have a no refunds policy.
